GETTING TO KNOW MONTAUK - SOME OF THE SCENES . . .

 

The Montauk Lighthouse - where the sun rises first in New York State. and where the sun sets - on Fort Pond Bay where the Fishing Villagers once lived.
   

Montauk Harbor - Center of Montauk's fishing industry, where hundreds of boats are moored at the many marinas and the Montauk Yacht Club.

The Atlantic Ocean . . .

   
to look at in wonder to walk in . . . and let your feet sink into the wet sand as the surf recedes!
   
to fish in . . . and wait for a striper to strike! (Striped Bass) to eat out of . . . after that lucky strike!
   

In addition to the many types of ducks, others inhabit the ocean,
bay and lakes . . .

Montauk is the place . . .
   
Where nature lovers can walk the paths at Shadmoor Park to the Atlantic and observe the variety of vegetation along the way to the bluffs . . . Where you can observe the forces of nature that carved out the rugged bluffs, visible in  the eastward view towards the Montauk Point Lighthouse!
   
Where one can enjoy a round of 18 holes at Montauk Downs State Park on one of America's top rated public golf courses, also play tennis or swim! . . . and where you can truly relax in peace and quiet!
   
Not to be overlooked . . . where one is not forgotten, by life long neighbors and friends as on 2007 visit with Elizabeth Lane (sitting) and Elaine Lyons.
